I bought a Frigidaire 8,000 BTU window unit 7-8 years ago for a 300 sf lanai. I live in FL so it runs pretty much year 'round. That one worked so well, I just replaced it with the same brand and size. This one cools but does not pull out moisture from the air,. It is always humid on the lanai now. There are thermopane glass windows and I expected it to work as well as the previous one. Alas, it doesn't.

It's not the most quiet unit, but not overbearing, I notice when there's a hard rain, fan makes a clunking sound, until compressor kicks on, not sure why that is. I've cleaned the filter once, it was fairly easy to remove, clean, and replace. Cools the room perfectly.

I installed this unit in a 20x20 room. It was 98° in the room when I turned it on and set it on 70°. It cooled and cycled at 70° in less than 30 minutes. All features work perfectly and the remote is great too. 3 weeks running and no problems. The filter light came on this morning and the filter was slightly dirty so I cleaned it. This maintenance feature keeps me from checking the filter unnecessarily. Very pleased with this product so far.
